About My Way

Introduction

Hi,
My legal name is Andrei Danilkin. I’m a QA Automation Engineer with huge experience in analysis. I’ve always been close to IT. I have obtained a master’s degree in engineering. And used to work approximately 10 years in sales software, from Microsoft and Oracle to Adobe and CAD products.

analysis

Soon, in 2019, I was noted by the Head of Analysis department and became an QA Analyst, working with product managers, developers, writing requirements and arranging testing to deployment. My skills in testing have grown, meantime, I got promoted to a Senior QA Analyst. Often communicated with stakeholders and organized the whole process of providing changes, I have developed the communication standards (including workflow in Jira) between different teams: various group of developers, analysis, project managers and the support.

QA department

And, at the end of the day, in 2021 we decided to base a QA department with myself as an important part. Currently, it’s more than 40 employees in 5 teams. I helped developed KPIs, integrated new department in the lifecycle and implemented a math model for calculating resource’s load and release planning in the Group of companies, begun an auto testing process, integrated TestRail with Jira, therefore significantly increased testing transparency and a confidence to the QA department. I’ve been staying up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in quality assurance and software testing.

support

In 2018 got acquainted with software testing. And it’s turned out that it is exactly what I’m wanna do rest of my life. I found Portnov computer school in Palo Alto, CA and took a course. In a couple of months, I was hired. Officially, as a support team’s technical specialist. I learned about our applications, websites, technologies, mostly managed Active Directory, Jira and Confluence. Involving in the testing process, I began to write test cases for regression one.

more testing

Meanwhile, I persuaded my employer that we need testers (that times those duties were executed by analysts). I hired a couple of guys, taught them and it was extremely successful. The separated process has presented us with great, deep requirements and, on the other hand, an expertise in testing. The quantity of testers was increasing, we developed mobile apps.

Automation

I’ve been working for a middle-size company as a QA Automation Engineer in California since 2022. Based on my experience, most of the projects I’ve touched on are e-commerce. Proficiently utilize Selenium WebDriver, Python, Pytest, and Allure to develop and execute automated test scripts. Frequently use Postman and Newman for API testing. Implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines using Jenkins and TeamCity. According to backend, sometimes I have to design and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform comprehensive database testing, ensuring the reliability and accuracy of information. On a regular basis I collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to understand project requirements, identify test scenarios, and provide valuable insights for quality improvements.

purpose

It's time to contribute to your project

It should said, de facto, based on my experience, I am able to see a big picture, can speak with everyone from support team to a stakeholder. Being outstanding team player with advanced management and analytical skills, I prefer to permanently extend my horizons, collecting new knowledge and never stagnate.
